Uk Exclusive: Car care

Image result for cars
Let’s imagine the following scenario – You are driving on the highway, and suddenly, your vehicle starts to overheat. This could be a situation that you have never experienced before and do not know how to handle it. Worse of all, it happens at a time when you cannot get anybody to help you. What do you do? Where do you go? Who do you call?

Lets aviod stories that touch, In the present day Nigeria where the country is not particularly safe, it is better to be safe than sorry. Taking regular care of your car has a lot of advantages, remember this is your means of transportation from Point A to Point B, This is the car that will take you to get that contract, or that job, or to church, or to that party. So if you ask me you should probably care for your car more that your spouse (joking).

However here are some tips to caring for your car;
  • Always check your car every morning before leaving the house. check your engine oil gage, water, tyre pressure etc.
  • Before you drive out in the morning, leave the car on for a while, revive the engine before driving.
  • Avoid fuel finishing in your car, top up ur fuel regularly, dont wait till its on empty before you start looking for the next fuel station, i have experiences where my fuel finishes on the road and i have to depend on Area boys to help me get fuel, what happens is they end up not buying good fuel, they buy less than the money you give them and you still have to sort them after everything, so I end up spending more than if I had been more conscious.
  • Gage your tyres regularly, know your tyre pressure.
  • Avoid using different brands of tyres as they mostly have different friction capacity.
  • Make sure your brake lights are working. this is for you as well as other passengers on the road
  • Service your car regularly, go to a trusted service station where your engine oil, power steering oil, brake oil, brakes, tyre pressure, allignments and wheel balancing etc will be checked.
